Urban Design Company, founded in 2014, reimagines outdoor spaces with a refined and personalized approach. Every project is crafted to reflect each client’s unique vision—even if that vision is just beginning to take shape. James first discovered his passion for the blend of creativity and hard work in landscaping back in 2002 while at St. Cloud State University. What started as a summer job evolved into a fulfilling career spanning over two decades, leading him to establish Urban Design Company. Today, he combines his expertise and meticulous attention to detail to create outdoor environments that are as beautiful as they are meaningful.
Throughout his career, James has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the industry’s most respected designers, an experience that has deepened his understanding of what makes a space both functional and beautiful. His partnerships with top talent have sharpened his eye for detail and enriched his ability to combine innovative ideas with classic principles, allowing him to deliver truly exceptional results.

Darrick is an accomplished Landscape Foreman with over 14 years of extensive experience in the landscaping industry. Known for his passion for the craft and his meticulous attention to detail, he has earned a reputation as a reliable and efficient professional who is easy to work with. Darrick's expertise spans a wide range of landscaping services, allowing him to manage projects with precision and creativity, ensuring that every outdoor space he works on is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
A proud graduate of Saint Cloud State University, Darrick holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing. This educational background complements his practical experience, equipping him with the skills to effectively communicate with clients and understand their unique needs.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Darrick values his family life immensely. He has been happily married to his beautiful wife, Amanda, for nine wonderful years. Together, they are devoted parents to their two lovely children, Jackson, who is seven years old, and Brynn, who is three years old.
In his leisure time, Darrick enjoys a variety of outdoor activities that reflect his appreciation for nature. He is an avid hunter and fisherman, often taking advantage of the tranquil surroundings to unwind and recharge. Whether he's spending a quiet afternoon on a lake or exploring the great outdoors with his family, Darrick cherishes these moments that bring him closer to his loved ones and allow him to appreciate the beauty of the natural world.
